Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a method of vertical handover using IEEE802.21 to switch the wireless communication media in heterogeneous wireless network where WiMAX, Wireless LAN and cellular networks coexist. When some Wi-Fi access points are busy, it can cause the difference of packet transmission delay among users. In our method, we use packet interarrival time in addition to RSSI as a handover trigger when the mobile nodes move across the area of WLAN and WiMAX. We evaluate the performance of our method by using network simulator NS-2, compared with the traditional methods.
