Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Displays with various sizes are widely used in accordance with the development of the display device technology. Therefore the image resizing method, which can display images appropriately in various size displays, is needed. In this report, a new image resizing method, which keeps the shapes of the main objects with changing the image size, is proposed. In the proposed method, firstly, the saliency and the strength of the gradient are calculated for each pixel. Then, these values are accumulated and ordered in each row/column. Finally, the saliency and the gradient orders are summed and denned as the importance degree of the row/column, and the image resizing is realized by inserting/deleting rows/columns based on the importance. Through the experiments using some images, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified.
