Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In these 20 years, mobile communications has been extensively studied. The transmission rate of cellular phone systems has been remarkably increased for these period and their services has been upgraded from speech to multimedia services. The transmission rate of wireless LAN systems have also been increased (e.g. in the wireless LAN standards, from 10 Mbps level (IEEE 802.lib) to several hundred Mbps (IEEE 802.1 In)). Additionally, wireless broadband access (WBA) systems (e.g. IEEE 802.16e, IEEE 802.20, etc.) were installed into market. Recently, personal area network technology has been widely studied. These systems are structured as as-hoc networks and a lot of applications (e.g. medical and welfare, smart grid, ITS, etc.) are considered. In these ad-hoc networks, we have several technical problems (e.g. low power consumptions at each node, communication quality, etc.). In this paper, we consider video transmission over wireless ad-hoc networks in order to cope with the above problems.
