Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To reduce the global routing table size by reinforcing prefix aggregation, hierarchical automatic locator number allocation (HANA) and end-to-end multiple-locator-based multihoming has been introduced. In the context of HANA, any changes in the network service provider (NSP)'s locator space allocation (i.e., renumbering for the efficient use of locator resource) would result in changes in the configuration of the lower-level customers and peering siblings as well as upper-level NSPs when the locator space of the NSP is inadequate. Hence, a consistent planning scheme of locator space renumbering across the domains is desired. In this paper, we present some issues of renumbering in HANA and introduce the requirements for a distributed inter-NSP planning scheme for efficient renumbering.
