A Flexible Alternative Link-Disjoint Routing in Translucent WDM Optical Networks

Abstract(in English) Number of alternative paths (NAP) in fixed alternative routing strategy contributes a major impact on the network blocking performance. The increment of NAP strengthens system survivability which helps level up the service provisioning. Yet this increment may also be a threat to network resource optimization in translucent optical networks (TONs). Consequently, only a limited performance improvement can be expected along with the drawback of computational delay extension. We introduce a flexible alternative routing in TONs to minimize the above problems. Simulation results show that the proposed routing strategy outperforms the fixed-alternative strategy in term of both blocking probability and delay.
