The development of optical signal monitor in GE-PON

Abstract(in English) In recent years, numbers of cable networks reconfiguration is increasing with expansion of optical access network. We developed optical signal monitor for the purpose of the improvement in certainty of optical cable network reconfiguration. Optical signal monitor which monitors the upstream signal frame from ONU in real time is based on OLT technology of GE-PON. This technology allows detecting the connection statement of each ONU using the upstream signal from ONU ; this will covers a connection state of each ONU with MAC Address, IP phone and Internet connectivity. By comparing the MAC Address of ONU before and after the cable network reconfiguration it will support to verify the cable network reconfiguration has been done correctly. This will lead the contribution to the efficiency of cable network reconfiguration and the improvement in certainty is highly expected.
