Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Physical layer security ensures the secrecy of information by the statistical independence between the secret information and enemy's information, without relying on an unproven assumption on the difficulty of some computational problem as used in the conventional cryptosystems. A representative problem in the physical layer security is the wiretap channel. This paper reviews the basics and the recent developments in the wiretap channel coding. On the other hand, the wiretap channel coding causes the loss of information rate due to protection of the secret information. Yamamoto et al. recently proposed the secure multiplex coding, which gets rid of the information rate loss. This paper also reviews the basics and the recent developments in the secure multiplex coding.
