Abstract(in English) A research project for service engineering aims to improve service productivity and value in use at the same time. The basic concept of the project is to represent human activities in services for customers and service providers, and to present dynamics of services to executive persons. Through real service field researches of retailing, entertainment, sightseeing and healthcare, the following elemental technologies for service engineering have been developed: ethnography to understand human activities in services, sensing technologies of them in services, data mining and modeling technologies, visualization and simulation technologies for executive persons and supporting technologies for real service fields.
