Abstract(in English) | This report presents an unusual wavelength shit in the reflection from an optical fiber Bragg grating (FBG), which is radioactively exposed doubted as an influence of Fukushima power station accidents. Two FBG's with identical characteristics were prepared, one was left at the laboratory where far from the radioactive area and the other one was moved to a place near Fukushima prefecture. After that, the wavelength of reflection from the two FBG's were compared. Then we found not ignorable wavelength shift was found from radioactively exposed one, even no difference in the measurement conditions existed. According to continuous measurement of wavelength during few days, the wavelength shit seemed tend to recovery to the original position. These phenomena might cause of excess error or accident in the measurement or detection by using FBG and give us consequential wrong results. The authors would like to make alarming to the FBG users. |
