Abstract(in English) We propose a maintenance system without a facility database for locating faults with high accuracy in optical fiber lines. The reference data for monitoring can be acquired from cache RTT (Round Trip Time) parameter generated in the ranging process in a PON system. In this paper, we propose a new technique to acquire a fiber length data in midstream of the optical fiber network. By using this method, the optical fiber maintenance system can perform an accurate test without constructing or upgrading a facility database. This will reduce the operating time and cost of network maintenance and will achieve a highly reliable network in the FTTH era.
