Simple adaptive compensation system of optical fiber chromatic dispersion depending on signal spectrum change

Abstract(in English) Along with the distortion of optical signal waveform due to fiber chromatic dispersion, spectrum profile of the modulated signal also changes. We have proposed a simple adaptive compensation system of optical fiber chromatic dispersion using the above characteristic. Because the feedback circuit of the compensation system needs only signal power information in a certain part of the signal spectrum, the proposed system can be constructed without high speed measurements in time domain, and at low cost. We have confirmed compensation time about 2~3 seconds relative to rapid and drastic change of transmission fiber length by optical switching.
