Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the laser detection and ranging system that obtain the real-time 3D range image, the photo-sensitive element such as photodiode and TIA(trans-impedance amplifier) are commonly used to convert the light signal into the voltage signal. To achieve the performance such as the wide field of view, the high-speed and the low-noise performances, this paper presents a new optical to electrical converter. This converter consists of the photo-sensitive element which acceptance surface is divided into plurals, the TIA corresponding to each acceptance surfaces and an analog adder to add each TIA output signals after threshold processing. The circuit was fabricated on 0.18-μm SiGeBi-CMOS process and it was shown that the signal-noise ratio is improved in proportion to the square root of the number of partitions.
