A Study on Light-Weight Absorbers for Millimeter-Wave Band Using Foamed Polyimide

Abstract(in English) In this paper, two-layered type wave absorber using foamed polyimide having light-weight and heat-resistance is proposed. Empirical formula of relative permittivity was calculated using the measured results when content rate of the carbon black was changed. Then the heat-resistance of the material was studied by changing the heating temperature. As the results, real part of the relative permittivity decraesed by 5.0 % and imaginary part decreased by 6.4 % at 300 ℃, but each part decreased by 22.1 and 45.3 % at 400 ℃. Two-layered type wave absorber was optimum designed by using genetic algorithm. Designed wave absorber showed that the center frequency of 38 GHz, 20dB fractional bandwidth of 51.3 %. Measured absoption characteristics agreed well with designed ones.
