Abstract(in English) To decrease a driving voltage and size of LiNbO_3 (LN) optical modulators, advanced modulators using resonant type electrodes have been proposed and demonstrated. Applying a resonant electrode to the LN optical modulator, a modulating electric field can be enhanced and the high efficiency optical modulation can be achieved in high frequency ranges over 10 GHz. In this report, we propose and demonstrate a novel LN modulator using two resonant CPW electrodes for zero chirp operation.
