Abstract(in English) In order to design compact and high performance photonic circuit devices, the topology optimization method based on function expansion method, whose effectiveness has been comfiremed in two dimensional optimization problems, is extended to three dimensional optimization problems. The topology optimization can automatically design the device structure with desired transmission properties. As examples of three dimensional optimization, T-branching and three branching waveguides are designed and the effectiveness of our approach is demonstrated.
