Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A spatial impression perceived via audio-visual equipments is dependent on the presentation properties arid conditions for each sensory modality. In order to clarify the influence of sound on the visual perception, the distance perception in the virtual environment, via two-dimensional display with headphone, was compared to that in the real environment. As a result, the distance perceived in the virtual environment was significantly different from that in the real environment, and this difference may be decreased when the sound pressure level presented in the virtual environment is set larger than that in the real one.
