Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Wireless Distributed Networks are expected as one of promising technologies for connecting objects in the future ubiquitous society and also as that for quick creation of temporary networks at emergency and disasters. However, their performance is affected by severe radio propagation environments with fading. This paper first gives a survey of the past technologies regarding autonomous controlled wireless networks. Then it presents several recent techniques that can provide higher communication reliability and save network resources by the cognitive action of distributed nodes. The techniques, realized as cross-layer mechanisms and mainly performed by the MAC-layer protocol, reduce packet error by route diversity that is achieved by changing local routes according to fading variation.
