Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Concatenated orthogonal coding for optical code division multiplexing (OCDM) is proposed. A concatenate orthogonal code is given by combining two or more orthogonal codes with less number of optical phases in designing longer codes. Firstly, the maximum cross-correlation values of concatenated orthogonal codes combining three types of base orthogonal codes are compared. Concatenated orthogonal codes combining Fourier codes give good cross-correlation property in asynchronous OCDM systems. Secondly, BER characteristics of a 2ch time spreading OCDM system with a 16-chip concatenated orthogonal code combining the 4-chip Fourier code are shown. The results indicate that the concatenated orthogonal code has the preferred pairs of codewords, and better OCDM performance can be obtained by using them.
