Abstract(in English) | We developed a digital coherent optical transponder platform featuring FPGA based real-time digital signal processing and FEC for 100Gb/s-class polarization multiplexed QPSK signal. We demonstrates transmission over a 1,072km dispersion managed line using the developed system. To achieve real-time DSP for 112-Gb/s signal, we developed a 32-FPGA system with 16-parallel-card architecture and a 1Tb/s backplane. In the transmission experiment, we demonstrate high fiber-nonlinearity tolerance for RZ-QPSK and degradation of error correction in the XPM dominant region. These results highlight the effectiveness of system evaluation using a full real-time system. We also demonstrate in real-time chromatic dispersion compensation by frequency domain equalization using the same FPGA hardware platform. |
