Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents the results of a laboratory experiment carried out at 59.5GHz in order to examine the applicability of the physical optics method, asymptotic method, and geometrical optics method to calculation of the received intensity of millimeter-waves transmitted over an undulating surface like a road surface. The physical optics method and asymptotic method show good agreement with measurements even in cases where the geometrical optics method deviates from the measured results. Furthermore, the asymptotic method is shown to be effective in the detailed analysis of the propagation mechanism.
