Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) HyRAL is the block cipher proposed by Hirata in 2010. In this paper, we study security evaluation of HyRAL against Boomerang Attack. Based on truncated differential cryptanalysis, we estimate an upper bound of the probability of right quartet. As a result, the upper bound of the probability of right quartet is 2^<-348> for 128bit keys HyRAL and 2^<-576> for 192/256bit keys HyRAL. Therefore, HyRAL is secure against Boomerang Attack.
