Transmission Characteristics of Variable Scanning Spot Antenna using Optical Beam Forming Network

Abstract(in English) We proposed and developed the prototype of the OBFN that possesses a capacity of amplitude and phase of 2 optical beams leading to controlling beam directions and width in antenna radiation pattern. Therefore, we measured a frequency characteristics of 17.7 GHz~18.8 GHz and a 3^ order intermodulation. As a result, frequency fluctuation was less than 1dB and IIP3 was 19.5dB. Furthermore, we demonstrated a transmission test and confirmed that this OBFN can apply a high speed data transmitting.
