Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Activity recognition with wearable sensors, such as accelerometer, is one of the key technologies to achieve context aware applications. However, existing methods of activity recognitions are unpractical for real-time use due to the slow response time. Thus, we propose a method that decreases the response time of accelerometer-based activity recognition. Our method firstly detects changing points of activities in sensor data, and then classifies short-time data just after the changing point using a special classifier. The results of experiments showed that out method can decrease the response time from 2530 ms to 1459 ms on the average.
