A Management Method of Items in Display Shelf by Cooperative Communications between Advanced IC Tags with Ad Hoc Communication

Abstract(in English) As a location management method which has flexibility for frequent display-changes of items, for example a rental shop, the method assumes advanced IC tag with ad hoc communication. The tag is attached to each item and then manages information of item and location. This paper proposes a new method, which autonomously updates location information by cooperative communications between the tags. In addition, the method which managements and searches item information of each tag by a distributed hash table is proposed. The proposed method is implemented on MANET (Mobile Ad hoc NETwork) emulator and evaluated for the performance such as successful ratio of update for location information, search time and so on.
