Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper briefly introduces the development of a TV White Space Prototype focusing on how robust sensing is achieved for DTV, wireless microphone and digital radio signals. The technical challenges and corresponding solutions in developing the TVWS prototype, major system features and performance are the main interests of this introduction. Since participating in the TVWS technology trial organized by iDA of Singapore is one important motivation in developing the prototype, we firstly summarize the challenges arising from the iDA requirements, namely regarding the sensitivity, sensing time and prompt termination of transmission for primary protection; we then describe the solutions used for overcoming above challenges, including sensing algorithm, hardware system design and software design. The system features and performance are given out namely based on the iDA test results, while some additional self-conducted test results are also shown to achieve insight into the prototype.
