Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Cube-1: a low power heterogeneus 3-D stacked architecture using an inductive-coupling is proposed. A low power MIPS R3000 host CPU with fine-grained power gating is connected with a number of low power reconfigurable accelerators. A ring-based NoC with vertical bubble flow control using inductive-coupling is used for interconnection. By changing the number of accelerators, the performance is scaled as required. Linux OS is runnning on the host CPU, and it manages energy efficiently according to the measurement of a leak monitor in each chip. In the implemenation shown here, 35bit flit data can be transferred at 200MHz clock between chips with the NoC.
