Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is well known that Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) cause the diarrhea due to motor activity of the bowel. Colonscopy is the gold standard for the diagnosis of IBS. However, colonscopy has some limitations including inconvenience. The change in bowel motor activity should be related to the change in bowel sound (BS). In this paper, we propose a new method to evaluate the bowel motor activity based on bowel sound analysis. Before-after taking enterokinetic agent, fundamental frequency of BS is estimated from one healthy volunteer. Via this study, a relationship between bowel motor activity and fundamental frequency of BS is compared and evaluated.
