| Abstract(in English) | The communication facilities of NTT were seriously dameged due to the Great East Japan Earthquake. More than 1.5 million subscriber lines of communication services became impossible to use temporarily. NTT East Corporation had deployed the Ku-band Ultra Small Earth Stations and the Portable Earth Stations for disaster recovery operations. NTT East Corporation used these systems as the free phone services at the disaster shelters. NTT DoCoMo Inc. had developed the mobile satellite phone and also provided as the free phone services at the shelters. We describe the overview of these developed systems and introduced the developing small earth stations. |
