Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The association between sounds and shapes is not completely arbitrary. Nonsense words with rounded vowels are mapped to rounded shapes and nonsense words with unrounded vowels are mapped to angular shapes. Because we thought that this effect may occur between other sensation, we checked bias of association between shapes, colors, motions, sounds and tactiles in this experiment. As a result, the bias of association was acknowledged between many categories. Moreover, the possibility that there was common concept in the bias was suggested.
