Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a sound display system by which each user can listen to only the sound of the movie the user is seeing from multiple movies. When multiple movies are played simultaneously using conventional ordinary loudspeakers, the sounds are spread spatially and mixed, although each user needs only one sound. The proposed system can generate a separated sound field for each movie at the user position using multiple superdirective loudspeakers, and control the source and sound direction depending on the user direction. Subjective evaluation with a prototype system for simultaneous multiple-movie seeing shows that the proposed system enables users to listen the sound of the movie they are seeing more easily than the system playing the movie sounds simultaneously with ordinary loudspeakers.
