| 抄録(和) | 本研究では,ヒト同様に視覚を主な感覚モダリティとするハトにおいて,視覚探索における並列探索と逐次探索時の注意の範囲を検討した。標的は6種類あり,妨害刺激との類似性の違いにより,3種類は瞬時に検出可能であり(並列探索),他の3種類は精査しなければ検出困難なものだった(逐次探索)。並列探索では,標的検出時間が呈示項目数にほとんど依存しない一方,逐次探索では呈示項目数が大きくなるにつれて,検出時間が長くなった。また,どちらの探索方略においても,刺激呈示時間に応じて探索可能な範囲が広がることが示された。この結果は,並列探索も,逐次探索も同じ空間的注意のメカニズムを共有していることを示唆している。 |
| 抄録(英) | In the present study, we examined the span of attentional splotlight during parallel and serial search tasks in pigeons, that is phylogenetically distant but another visually dominant species from humans. We trained pigeons to search for six targets. Three targets had relatively low target-distractor (T-D) similarity, and humans can instantly detect them. The other three had relatively high T-D similarity and they required serial search for humans. Pigeons' response times increased as a function of display size for detection of high T-D similarity targets, whereas they were independent of display size for detection of low T-D similarity targets. A following experiment revealed that the focus of attention expands as a function of stimulus presentation duration in both serial and parallel searches. These results suggest that the same mechanisms of spatial attention were involved in both serial and parallel searches. |
