Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper investigates the user throughput of the non-orthogonal access using superposition coding with successive interference canceller (SIC) and compares it with that of the orthogonal access in cellular downlink. Since both the total user throughput and cell-edge user throughput are important in the real system, we compare the cell-edge user throughput subject to the same total user throughput. Optimum resource allocation such as bandwidth and transmission power for each user is assumed for respective access scheme. From the evaluation results, we demonstrate that the non-orthogonal access with SIC can significantly enhance the cell-edge user throughput compared to the orthogonal access while achieving the same total user throughput in the context of the cellular downlink, which can give some insights into the direction of the wireless access scheme for the system beyond the IMT-Advanced.
