Abstract(in English) In order to cost-effectively accommodate the continuing growth in IP traffic, providers are considering offloading IP traffic at their core networks to Layer 2 or Layer 1. In this paper, we present IP traffic offloading to the elastic optical layer through the introduction of multi-flow OTPs. By taking advantage of emerging spectrally-efficient elastic optical path networking technology, the multi-flow OTP achieves point-to-multipoint optical connections that enable an increase in the number of directly connected router pairs while keeping router-to-optical-node interconnections simple
