Abstract(in English) | NGN realized an integrated-service network by supporting multiple QoS classes required by various multimedia communication applications. Wide variety of applications have been created, and the total traffic will increase exponentially for 5-10 years, mainly due to video traffic. Thus technologies to increase the network capacity economically and power-efficiently and those to flexibly enhance the security functions or application-oriented functions are needed for the future packet networks. Also the technologies to share infrastructure among various service networks such as Ether service, the legacy services. In the transport layer, 10GE-PON access and 100GE transmission are key drivers, and the packet optical transport supporting flexible paths would reduce the network cost by using the IP handling function more efficiently. In IP layer, functionally-distributed node architecture and control-plane separation become important to enhance the scalability and the flexibility in IP handling functions. In the control and operation layer, the network virtualization will become important because it enables various service networks not only to share the huge and flexible network resources realized by the technologies mentioned above but to get the control capability of the resources assigned to those service networks. |
