Abstract(in English) | The current explosive increase in the data traffic causes a rapid expansion in the total throughput for board-to-board signal transmissions of routers. These routers will require a parallel multi-channel transceiver at a data rate on each channel beyond 25-Gbps because of the need for downsizing. The optical interconnects are expected to be a vital solution to provide low power signal transmission at data rates beyond 20-Gbps. We developed a compact optical receiver consisting of a four-channel 25-Gbps CMOS transimpedance amplifier and PIN-PD array for backplane signal transmission. The optical receiver demonstrated small inter-channel crosstalk (0.8 dB) and low power (3.0 mW/Gbps) operation. |
