Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, we propose a new color to monochrome transformation of a digital image, in which the color information can be restored roughly again from the resultant monochrome image. Recently, some studies about the color to monochrome transformation, which realizes the restoration of color of original image, have been investigated. However, there were some problems, such as image degradation, color number limitation, and tremendous time consuming, in the conventional methods. In the proposed method, the monochrome transform superior in the color restoration is realized by embedding the color information into the local regions of the monochrome image efficiently. Further, a high speed processing is also realized by simplifying the algorithm in the proposed method. Through the some comparison experiments with the conventional methods, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified.
