Secure and Traceable Online Image Sharing Scheme for Service Providers

Abstract(in English) We propose a scheme for application service providers to provide a secure and traceable online image sharing service. To this end, a service provider needs to achieve security with respect to unauthorized read access and traceability for unauthorized disclosure. Digital watermarking is a promising approach for achieving traceability. However, if an image is encrypted using a cryptographic key shared between users for security, it is generally difficult for the service provider to embed a digital watermark into the encrypted image. To overcome such a limitation in encryption, we propose a novel solution based on the secure multiparty computation (SMC) protocol and secret sharing scheme (SSS). Our goals are two-fold in this paper. One is to design functions to support image sharing among authorized users. Another is to design a function to trace the image copy path to unauthorized disclosure of image. The preliminary analysis of the security of our solutions shows that it is significantly secure especially when images are shared among many users.
