IP multicast recovery method considering QoS class in the access network

Abstract(in English) Abstract With the beginning of digital terrestrial broadcasting IP retransmission service, High efficiency high quality, and reliable IP multicast technology is desired. Previously, we proposed a method to distribute IP multicast traffic per flow basis across multiple edge in the access system based on applying standard protocol(IGMP[1]/MLD[2]) to improve the capacity of IP multicast delivery and diversify risk of network failure[3]. Then, we suggested a faster fault detection method[4] and a faster failover switching method[5] than conventional methods to improve fault tolerance of LP multicast access. In addition, we gave a selective recovery switching method considering delivery status of each flow to prevent from stop delivery and duplicate delivery during the switching control, after recovery of network failure[6]. However, if a large number of flows are not switched back for a long term, it is concerned that the delivery capacity is insufficient for new traffic demands. In this paper, we present a selective recovery switching method considering order priority of each flow when delivery resource is insufficient. Because of the way only to control required amount, it is expected that while the stop delivery or duplicate delivery during the switching control are minimized, delivery resources is automatically allocated optimally depending on the traffic demands.
