Estimating the effecs of diffracted wave from pylamidal electromagnetic wave absorber on SVSWR by simulations

Abstract(in English) It is known that reflected wave from an electromagnetic wave absorber on a wall of an anechoic chamber includes higher-mode diffracted waves. Our research group have studied about higher mode diffracted wave from pyramidal wave absorber by measurements and simulations. Meanwhile, an evaluation method for anechoic chambers is defined by the CISPR16-1-4 Ed.2 standard. By this method, a site vswr (SVSWR) is calculated from amplitudes of electromagnetic field that measured at the specific points defined. In this method, several factors affect measured SVSWRs. These are frequency step, antenna directivity, boundary between wave absorber and floor, and so on. There are reports about the measurement result of the anechoic chambers that the SVSWR values showed higher value at the specific frequencies. Thus we think it is important to evaluate the reflection characteristics of pyramidal wave absorber for higher frequencies with high precision. In this report, we calculated spacial distributions of reflected wave of the pyramidal wave absorber by FDTD method, and examined the effects of higher mode diffracted waves on SVSWR measurements.
