Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Little study has approached the neural substrates for an interval of human communication. Here, we aim to identify the brain oscillations which is related to synchronized behaviors by measuring the two-person EEG data (N = 12) during an alternately tapping task. This task required the participants to synchronize the tapping intervals by visual feedbacks. The EEG analyses showed that the μ rhythms (about 10Hz) on the central electrodes were decreased prior to the onset of the self tapping. Interestingly, the decrements of the μ rhythms were also observed during the observation of other's tapping under the synchronization of the intervals. These results suggested that communication-related brain activities would represent the synchronized behaviors.
