Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This study examined how verbal and nonverbal behavior of speakers influenced on evaluation of the conversation from third person. In this study, dyadic conversation with a stranger who was same sex was examined. Each of the thirty-five conversations (female=14 pairs, male=21 pairs) that the four observers (female=2, male=2) evaluated was about for six minutes. There were two types of evaluation. One was the type of individual evaluation that observers evaluated each speaker individually. The other was the type of relative evaluation that observers compared between two speakers. The results showed that the individual evaluation was influenced by only speaker's verbal behavior. On the other hand, the relative evaluation was influenced by the difference of both verbal and nonverbal behaviors between speakers. They were discussed in terms of difference of information amount that observers would process in order to evaluate the conversation.
