Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A geomagnetic sensor is becoming a standard feature for mobile phone. In this paper, we show characteristics of geomagnetic data by using a three-axis geomagnetic sensor (including an electronic compass function) in a mobile phone, and suggest effectiveness of geomagnetic data to estimate person mobility. Person mobility means which kind of way a person takes to move from one geographical point to another. In this paper, we check four types of person mobility, which are walking, train, bus, and car. We use Apple's smartphone-iPhone 3GS as a mobile phone equipped with a three-axis geomagnetic sensor. Also, as feature value, we investigate average and variance.
