Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Tests at several source voltages were carried out to clarify the influence of the voltage on various characteristics, arc duration, contact resistance, arc energy, and electrode mass change. In previous experiments, arc was generated in both make and break. In this report, arc is generated only at break. The source voltages are changed from 100V to 160V, load current is set to 5A constant, and an electromagnetic contactor is operated continuously up to 100,000 times. As a result, when only break arc occurs, the source voltage doesn't influence average contact resistance and arc duration is almost same as a past result. In addition, cathode loss of fixed electrode was proportional to total arc energy in the previous experiment. Also, in this experiment that only break arc generated, the cathode loss was proportional to total arc energy.
