Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have studied a cool sound of a golf ball and a relation between impact sounds and physical properties for developing golf ball in our previous researches. In our previous research, we proposed a feature extraction method of impact sound based on Fourier transform for analyzing golf ball's sounds. However the method based on Fourier transform is not high time-resolution enough to analyze impact sounds because the energy of impact sounds concentrates in short and early time. To overcome this problem, we propose a feature extraction method based on the wavelet transform. We carried out the analysis of golf ball's sound for investigating a relation between impact sounds and physical properties. We recorded impact sounds of ten kinds of golf balls with four kinds of golf clubs (A driver, a putter, a six-iron, and a sand wedge). Ten balls were classified to three classes based on k-means with features extracted from impact sounds. We investigated the relation between impact sounds and physical properties with the classified results. The results of the investigation indicated the correlations between the cover hardness and impact sounds of the driver and the putter.
