Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Network Coding is a novel technology which originated from a seminal paper of Ahlswede et al. in 2000. The first advantage that attracted attention was the throughput increase in multicast communication. Then, the robustness increase by additional coding redundancy was found to be effective as well. In this paper, we present a research trend of Network Coding and explain the NEXT (Network coding satellite EXperimenT) held in DLR (Deutsches Zentrum fur Luft und Raumfahrt), indicating approaches toward the future.
