Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Mobile communication systems and antennas for the systems have been employing multiband, diversity, and sector cell configuration to improve channel capacity and quality so far. For the base station antennas, compact design and light weight are strongly desired due to the limitation of antenna mounting. This paper investigates a new vertically polarized sector antenna which illuminates 3 and 6 sector cells for 800MHz and 2GHz bands, respectively. The antenna is composed of 2-dipole array antenna with a reflector, and parasitic elements. The feature of the antenna is that the feed point for both bands are common and one of the parasitic elements is placed at the center of the 2-dipole array to reduce the sidelobes and the beamwidth fluctuation which appear in 2GHz band. The effectiveness of the proposed antenna is analyzed by the moment method.
