Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this study, we propose a lossless coding of color images using correlations among color components in 3-D Markov model coding. Two methods utilizing relationships among color components are introduced. One is to refer elements of R, G and B images, another is to refer Y, Cb and Cr components. We also propose a method to change adaptively the number and the positions of the reference elements by each bit plane. Experimental results show that the entropy of proposed method is less than that of the conventional 3-D Markov model coding.
