Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report studies threshold-setting methods for time-varying traffic in the QoE-Based Video Output Scheme SCS (Switching between error Concealment and frame Skipping) for audio-video IP transmission in terms of QoE. We compare four threshold-setting methods for SCS: (1) a constant threshold value of 100%(pure error concealment), (2) looking up into a reference table, (3) setting by estimating QoE, and (4) selection by the user. We conducted subjective experiments on the methods for combinations of two contents, three picture patterns, and two patterns of variation in the amount of load traffic. We assess QoE by the method of successive categories. As a result, we observe that the methods (2), (3), and (4) can also achieve higher QoE than the method (1) for time-varying traffic.
