Repair Organization in Sign Language Conversation

Abstract(in English) Repair is an alteration that is suggested or made by a participants in order to clarify or correct previous troubles in conversation. Generally, repair will initiate with restating, asking, suggesting possible understanding of prior turn. Previous studies of phonetic language have accumulated many study results on repair organization, but sign language studies have not accumulated enough. So, in this paper, we (1) adopted action level annotation method, (2) transcribed in detail sign utterance including hand-holding and (3) analyzed relationship between repair organization and hand-holding. As a result of analysis, we found the sign language's feature that the repair segment fits in hand-holding duration.
