Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In English school grammar the sentences are basically classified into five sentence patterns with the combinations of a noun/ nouns and a verb. And if a sentence has one predicate verb, it is called a simple sentence. So the next sentences are all considered as simple sentences: He went to London./ He went to London by car./ He went to London to study mathematical economics. But a piece of linguistic information can be considered to be composed of a single verb and a noun/ nouns, and if there are two pieces of information, they are connected with conjunctives, such as conjunctions, prepositions, and verbal, so that 'He went to London.' is a single information sentence, and 'he went to London to study mathematical economics.' is a double information sentence, because this sentence is composed of two pieces of information: 'He went to London and he was to study mathematical economics. And moreover, 'He went to London by car' can also be called a double information sentence, because it is equally composed of tow pieces of information: one is 'he went to London' and the other is 'he drove to London.' So the classification of sentences in the traditional grammar is not so fit for dealing with the language conversion on computer. All the sentences have to be reconsidered as linguistic information from a view-point of 'unit-information.'
